7 tips for better sleep
As a Personal Trainer in Bury St Edmunds my clients often ask what else they can be doing outside of the gym to improve their health and well being. Along side good nutrition i always say ‘sleep’.
Sleep, and in particular the quality of sleep is just as important to our health as exercise and nutrition.
I have written before about the importance of sleep and exercise in a previous blog. You can see that here https://neilevans-fitness.co.uk/sleep-and-weight-loss/ . But in this blog id like to offer 7 tips to a better nights sleep
1 – To go bed at the same time and get up at the same time each day.
2 – Go outside and get in the sun. Try for an hour a day.
3 – Avoid your tablet, phone, TV etc 1 to 2 hours before sleeping.
4 – Make sure your room is in complete darkness and at a temperature around 18 degrees.
5 – Exercise during the day (may i suggest the fantastic online fitness sessions we currently offer)
6 – Limit caffeine after 2 pm
7 – Relax and wind down an hour before bed. Read, meditate or have a bath.
In these strange times of stress, uncertainty and being apart from the ones we love , we must look after ourselves. Good sleep is a huge part of this. So give these tips a go!
